The floral trend is still going strong, as evidenced by the lovely top Emma Roberts wore. I love the feminine touch that a floral blouse brings to an ensemble. And an outfit with jeans? Doesn't get much better than that! I decided to put together two looks (a day and night) around the same sweet floral print blouse. While the snug fit of Emma's top is cute, I am loving the flow and ease of the top that I selected.

Shorts 3 Ways

I don't know about you, but when I buy an article of clothing, I like options. Now, I don't always know right away what those different options will be, but that is part of the fun of shopping. You purchase a great piece and then bring it home to see how it will work in your closet.

I really liked these shorts and thought they would be fun to build a few outfits around. A pair of shorts has endless possibilities. The three looks I put together are definitely great for spring before the super hot weather sets in. For the two blazer options, just pair a basic t-shirt under them. Adding a blazer will break up the casual look and leave you looking crisp and polished. And in the summer? Ditch the blazers and throw on some statement jewelry (or a scarf if you don't live in Louisiana like I do) to dress the t-shirt up. As I said, the possibilities are endless.

Your Look: Peter Pan Collar Done Two Ways

Nothing is new, as evidenced by the revival of the peter pan collar. It has been around for over a hundred years. You can read about its interesting history here.

I decided to build two different looks around the same top and shorts. I really like a floppy hat and sandals. To me it reads 'vacation,' and after having a sick baby for the past few months (he catches a cold once every two weeks), I am ready for a break! Since the outfit is full of blush tones, throwing in a mint tote will help add some fun to the whole look.

The second look is revved up by adding a heel (see my previous post on sandals with heels here), jewel encrusted earrings and a sweet bracelet. The knucklebox clutch has enough rings on it so leave your cocktail rings at home.

Loving Loafers!

I am obsessed with the loafer trend! Upon first glance, they remind me of something that an old man would wear. I can picture an elderly (esteemed) gentleman wearing a robe, a pair of loafer-esque slippers, and smoking a cigar. So why, you ask, would I want to look like THAT? Heck, I don't know! I just love it and you better believe that I am on my way to DSW today to see if they have this pair of flats that I recently spotted online. :)

I think that a loafer in a bright color paired with skinny jeans would be super cute. I'm sure that if I am careful with my styling, 'old man' will not be the look that I communicate.
