A look I love!

I was playing around with the H&M Fashion Studio this morning. The Fashion Studio gives you a couple of different models to choose from. Pick one, and you can put whatever outfit on him/her that you want. It isn't just limited to clothing either! You can also choose handbags, jewelry, tights, shoes and sunglasses. This is a fun way to put an outfit together to figure out the silhouettes that you like.

This morning, I put an outfit together that I love. It includes a skirt, sweater, blazer, ankle booties and a key necklace. I do wish the skirt were a little longer and perhaps a little fuller. I like the idea of a flirty skirt paired with a jacket and ankle boots.

After I put this outfit together, I realized that I have most of these pieces already! Maybe I won't go shopping after all!

Jewelry Picks

Ever check out Topshop.com? The retailer has some cute, original jewelry for great prices. I love a touch of unexpected in my jewelry, and this cute bag on a chain defines unexpected for sure! I can see this as a definite spring/summer piece mixed with some of my turquoise jewelry for a 'Southwestern' feel.

Or for those days when I feel more 'sporty,' I can go for the nautical vibe, literally, with this cute anchor ring.

There is just something about these little bunnies on hooks. Maybe it is the child in me, but I love these earrings and would wear them for sure!

Golden Globes

I checked out the Golden Globes last night, not to see who won, but to see the beautiful dresses. I noticed that one theme seemed prevalent - dresses with structured shoulders. At first, this might seem a little too retro but I think we will see a lot more of these structured, strong shoulders in the future.

Anne Hathaway was my favorite in Armani Prive from the Fall 2010 Couture collection. You can see the dress in the runway show but I think Anne made the dress look incredible!

Angelina Jolie was my next favorite in an Atelier Versace gown.

My least favorite? Natalie Portman in Viktor & Rolf. They usually have some very cool looks and for some reason this gown just made me think of Beauty and the Beast with the rose sitting on her chest.

Jumpsuits!

Does anyone else absolutely love jumpsuits? They are so easy to wear and SO comfortable! You can dress them up with some gold jewelry and pumps and feel great. I love to dress up and I absolutely hate to be uncomfortable. For me (and if you are the same way), a jumpsuit is a great way to go. I saw a great black jumpsuit in the 2011 spring A Detacher collection. Check out the entire line. There are some fun outfits and even, gasp, MIXING prints!

H&M also has a great jumpsuit that I wouldn't mind having. Of course, there isn't an H&M close by so I guess I will just have to look elsewhere!

Lace for Spring

I think that this week has been the coldest week we have had this winter. I am not a huge fan of temperatures in the 30s! Since it has been so cold, of course it has me thinking about spring and realizing that it will be here before we know it!

I was looking through my favorite designer's (ADAM) spring collection and fell in love with a lace dress. Check out his entire spring collection! He has some great, classic pieces.

I spent the morning perusing the internet and found a couple of lace dresses that I think will be great for spring. These dresses make me think of walking barefoot through a field of flowers with the sun shining down on my shoulders. Although that seems like an idyllic, picturesque scene, I would never do that. What if I stepped on a bug?

Still loving the military vibe!

Some of you may be tired of the military trend as it has been around for quite a bit. I, however, still love it!

I was looking for some boots (for a friend...I promise!) when I stumbled across these fun booties. Maybe it is something about the hardware on the shoe that reminds me of buttons on a a military uniform. Or maybe it is the clean lines of the straps across the shoe...either way, I like it!

I also found another Etsy shop (that makes two this week...) with a cool purse that also has the military 'vibe.' Aviva Schwarz (Israel) made this great canvas tote along with several other items that she has in her Etsy shop.

Steampunk Junq

If you haven't checked out Etsy.com, you should right away. It is a website for artists to sell handmade items, from jewelry to home accessories. You can also find vintage items on Etsy as well.

I love to look through the jewelry from time to time. There is some amazing talent out there!

Check out these rings and necklaces by Steampunk Junq. The artist has taken apart old watches and fashioned jewelry out of them. She has some very cool pieces that you won't find at your local boutique. I don't know about you but I like the idea of one-of-a-kind jewelry.
