Peplum & Product Review

Peplum t-shirt
(Click picture for details)

I loved this little peplum t-shirt as soon as I saw it. It is a reasonable (only $20) way to jump into the peplum trend if you haven't yet done so. Sometimes I am hesitant to spend a lot of money on something trendy that won't be in style for a long time. This top won't break the bank, which I love. I also love that it can go from casual with a pair of shorts and sandals, to dressed up with a sequined skirt and heels. I may just have to order this top before they are all gone!

Have you heard of the new Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 foundation? It is a foundation and serum that 'hydrates to improve skin tone and covers discolorations.' (Info according to Covergirl website.) I don't have any skin discolorations but I can tell you that I love this foundation! I haven't used a liquid foundation in years so I was hesitant to purchase this. (I have been using a mineral powder for my foundation because I was tired of heavy liquid foundations.) This foundation surprised me. It is not heavy or greasy or anything terrible associated with liquid foundations. I don't know if I have paid attention to its moisturizing properties but I still love this foundation. It goes on smoothly and gives my skin a nice even finish. It doesn't smell all that bad either!

I recently got a sample of Chanel foundation in the mail and I was so excited to try it. I figured if it was Chanel then it would feel like liquid gold going on my skin. And of course I would look fabulous beyond belief. I tried it and hated it. It was heavy and the smell was horrible! I washed my face and pulled out my trusty little tube of Covergirl.

If you are looking for a new foundation, try this one. Drugstore cosmetics have come a long way y'all!

  3. The peplum top is only $20?! What an amazing find! It's so cute.

And that's great to know about the foundation. I'm always hesitant to buy foundation from the drugstore because you can't try it first, so I'm happy to know you've had a good experience with it. I may have to give it a try!

  4. I am also using that Cover Girl Foundation. I go back and forth between mineral powder and liquid foundation and I agree that this stuff is surprisingly wearable.

Also - I LOVE that orange, black, white, pink diamond skirt!

  11. Drugstore makeup has come a long way! I love being able to go to my local drugstore and find products that are most of the time pretty comparable to high end makeup.

    Love that peplum shirt too!
    Have a lovely day, Amy!

  25. Maybe I'll give it a try. I recently tried te Costco brand and thought it was ok. Have you tried it?

  26. That's an incredible price for a peplum top. Funnily enough, I saw a friend recently with such a dewy and sheer coverage on her face so I had to ask what foundation she was using. She mentioned Chanel Aqua Lumiere. I tried it on and it was divine. I suppose some of the thicker and more matte ones can be rather cakey. I haven't tried CoverGirl as this is the first time in more than a decade that I'm actually using foundation.

  31. How cool is it that CoverGirl and Olay teamed up? I am so picky about what I put on my face because it's so sensitive. But, I may have to give this one a whirl. And we think so much alike, bargain shopping!! ;) Love the two peplum looks, as always!!

  32. I love peplum, and all those accessories are just too pretty. I have a weakness for drugstore make up. I don't even know why. I save my nice makeup for a special occasion, and then use the drugstore for my every day makeup, but just as you said, sometimes the drugstore version is better!
