Vests

When I wore my new sleeveless blazer on Friday (here) it got me thinking about other ways to wear vests. I have loved my green utility vest and have worn it numerous ways on the blog (one post is coming up on Friday) but am trying to branch out and try new ones. Vests remind me so much of the '90s (especially denim ones!) but I think that there are ways to wear them without looking like a victim of '90s fashion.

I remember wearing my denim vest with short sleeve and long sleeve shirts in high school but probably wouldn't have thought to pair it with another sleeveless garment. While I have worn vests with long sleeves in the recent past (and this Friday), I'm loving the idea of vests over sleeveless garments.

Of the two, this look is definitely my favorite. These are all very basic pieces but combined give this outfit a very easy and chic look.

    I don't know if I could bring myself to wear a denim jacket without suffering from a bad elementary school flashback haha. But I love the second look, and I love the idea of sleeveless over sleeveless! I've been contemplating a utility/military style vest for myself.

    I really like the look of a jean vest, but I just don't know if I could pull it off. I actually feel just like Kim ^ and I haven't even gotten myself a jean jacket! I've tried multiple times but I always end up picturing 5 year old me getting mad at my mom for making me wear one!

    I got a jean vest recently (actually, it's more chambray material) that I plan on wearing knotted over white sundresses. I love the look!

    Hmmm...I am still not sure about vests. I love them on other people but the only vests I own are sweater vests and down vests for winter. But I love the looks you put together!!

    This post reminds me of an amazing mint-leather vest I found at forever 21 a few weeks back. It had silver spike detailing on the shoulders, but they didn't have my size! I have been craving it ever since.. now after seeing this post I may just have to search harder for a similar one... ;) love both the looks btw.
