Triple Prints

Loft tank, H&M blazer, Frock Candy pants, Urban Expressions clutch, ShoeDazzle c/o heels (here), F21 earrings

So we all know by now that print mixing is the 'thing to do,' but I was ready to step out of the safe comfort zone of florals and stripes or florals and polka dots. Not that I don't love those together but I was looking for a little something different.

Keeping It Casual - 16 (Link-up)

Francesca's blouse (old), F21 blazer, shorts, and sunglasses, BCBGeneration flats, Croft and Barrow tote via Kohls

I've mentioned before about my love for heels but ever since I got these cute bow flats, I've been trying to think of more ways to wear them. I might have to break my 'no flats with jeans' rule and wear them with my skinny jeans soon.

Denim Dressed Up

Last Tuesday I shared with you two ways that I would wear denim shorts in the summer when I was feeling like wearing a laid-back look. You can read that post here. This week I wanted to share with you how I would dress up those same denim shorts. There is only so much you can do to denim shorts to dress them up but with the right pieces, you can achieve a look that exudes class and style.

These denim shorts are dressed up perfectly with clean white pieces and a gorgeous printed blazer. I'm not big on a bunch of jewelry at once so for me, one statement necklace is all you really need.

This look is not as dressy as the first one but has enough elegance in the accessories to keep you from looking sloppy. A blazer makes any outfit look put together... even one with ripped cutoffs.

What is your favorite way to wear denim shorts in the summer?

Ripped

F21 vest (cute option), Tobi top (old), Seven jeans (old), ShoeDazzle heels (old), Francesca's clutch, Charming Charlie bracelet, sunglasses (here)

There is nothing better to me than ripped jeans and heels. Nothing. Well, an all-expense paid cruise might be better.

I've always been a fan of heels with jeans and rarely wear flats with them. I don't have the shortest legs in the world but I don't have the longest ones either. One way to add a little length is to simply add heels. Works like a charm.

Have a great day!

Feeling Blue

MNG by Mango blouse via JCP, F21 shorts, necklace, and earrings, River Island sunglasses, Nine West heels,
ASOS bag

I've been a fan of monochromatic looks for a few weeks now and I might have exhausted all of the colors in my closet at this point. I still need to do a head-to-toe white look so that will be coming up in the near future.

Short and sweet today, ladies. It's Friday, after all. Have a great weekend!

Keeping It Casual - 15 (Link-up)

F21 jumpsuit, earrings, and sunglasses, BCBGeneration flats via Marshalls, ASOS bag, wearing
Revlon 'Fire & Ice' lipstick

My husband and I spend Sunday afternoon at the movies. I have been obsessed with going to the movies lately (this time to see Iron Man 3) and I happily sat and stuffed myself with milk duds and popcorn. Ugh. Good thing I wore a baggy jumpsuit!

Summer Denim & A Giveaway

Summer is finally here and nothing is better than a pair of denim shorts when the temperature starts rising. I've decided to do a two-part series focusing on denim shorts. This week's edition will be devoted to a casual look while next week's will be how to dress up your denim.

Some might think that longer denim shorts would be too close to the dreaded 'mom' jean but I think if they are accessorized right, you need not worry. The blouse pictured above is updated with studs, and the sandals have embellishments that keep them from being too basic and boring. Carry a structured crossbody bag and cool sunnies for an effortless vibe.

This outfit is one that not everyone will like (hi mom!) but I love it. The crop top and shorts are dressed up slightly with the white blazer, which of course, will look cool with the sleeves rolled back. Keep the jewelry simple to play along with the simple vibe.

I am part of a giveaway this week and the prize is a $40 gift card to Zappos.com. Enter below!

Versatility

F21 t-shirt and blazer, Gap pants, ShoeDazzle heels c/o (here), Steve Madden clutch, River Island sunglasses (similar)

I always feel rather proud of myself when I am able to create multiple outfits out of one particular piece. Two items that I didn't think I would wear that much was this floral tee and, believe it or not, my white blazer. Both pieces have been in heavy rotation over the past few weeks and I'm so glad that I have them. If you don't have a white blazer, what are you waiting for? They are the perfect polishing piece to any outfit (option here). And a floral tee is just fun.

Here are just a few ways that I have worn my floral tee:

And here are, in addition to the two above, a few ways that I have worn my white blazer:

Flippy

F21 t-shirt, Target chambray shirt, ASOS skirt (here) and clutch, BCBGeneration flats via Marshalls

I don't usually wear flat shoes but these cute little bow flats are too adorable to resist. I went shopping with a friend the other night and the first place we went was Marshalls. I usually head straight for the shoes and bags whenever I go to stores like these and I'm so glad that I did because I found these adorable flats for only $20. They were the only pair in my size, so naturally I had to have them.

I felt that the casual vibe of the chambray shirt and striped t-shirt called for flats instead of dressy heels.

Have a great weekend!

Keeping It Casual 14 - (Link-Up)

A.N.A blouse via JCP (here), F21 shorts, earrings, and bracelets, Lilac Bijoux necklace c/o (here), Worthington
wedges via JCP , bag via Ross

I'm becoming a huge fan of wearing one color from head to toe. I've done pink and yellow, and I couldn't resist black (even though I've done that already too). If you are worried about looking too drab in all black, add a pop of color in an accessory (like I did in a necklace). I also decided to carry a striped bag to give a little more interest to my look.
