Some might think that longer denim shorts would be too close to the dreaded 'mom' jean but I think if they are accessorized right, you need not worry. The blouse pictured above is updated with studs, and the sandals have embellishments that keep them from being too basic and boring. Carry a structured crossbody bag and cool sunnies for an effortless vibe.

This outfit is one that not everyone will like (hi mom!) but I love it. The crop top and shorts are dressed up slightly with the white blazer, which of course, will look cool with the sleeves rolled back. Keep the jewelry simple to play along with the simple vibe.

I like the idea of a longer blouse with the longer shorts! Very casual chic. :)
ReplyDeleteI love both of those outfits! The striped crop top is especially cute

Love the second look - I have quite thick thighs (thank you Irish dancing and running) so I am not sure that I could pull off the longer shorts but I love how you've styled them!!

I have to admit that I really do love my jean shorts. You're right....if accessorized correctly, they don't look too much like mom jeans!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute looks! Love those denim cutoffs, and that cropped striped top is awesome :)

ReplyDeletehi Amy! Great inspiration boards this morning to go along with the Giveaway. Great to be in it with you again. Congrats and Blog ON!
ReplyDeleteLoving both of these options, can't wait for part 2!
ReplyDeleteI would totally wear both of those outfits...and I don't even wear shorts usually! I love the first outfit because of the length of the shorts - it stands out against the sea of short shorts I've been seeing lately. And the second one is great, too, because it's a great contrast between the ripped shorts and the tailored pieces. Good luck to all who enter!

Ok so I am so not a shorts girl, especially jean shorts. However I have recently been kind of wanting some distressed denim shorts. And this post has just made me want them more!
