Brow Help

I bet you saw the title of this post and thought you were going to read all about how I was going to help you in the eyebrow department. Well, sorry to disappoint, but it is me who needs the help. Let me explain a little.

When I was in my teens, thin eyebrows were all the rage. I plucked those suckers so thin that you could barely see them. I remember my mom telling me to be careful not to over-pluck because they might not grow back and I absentmindedly waved her off. What did she know? I was a teenager and knew everything. (Ugh, sorry mom). Well, dad gum if she wasn't right.

Here I am some fifteen years later and I'm still 'growing my brows out' (meaning, they still haven't grown back). I've been using a brow pen to fill in (a lot) but I'm ready for a change. I need my brows to grow back! I've been looking into different brow serums and I'm stumped on what to do. I don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars (or even fifty) for some janky product that doesn't do squat. I need your help. Have you tried anything with good results? I've listed a few products below and please tell me if you have tried them.

(Anastasia Brow Enhancing Serum Advanced)
The product says that it has been proven to grow back hair in the women who have tested it. At $45, I might be willing to try this one.

(Prevage Clinical Lash + Brow Enhancing Serum)

I just saw an ad for this Elizabeth Arden serum and was instantly intrigued. It is a lash + brow serum and says that it helps lashes and brows to become fuller in two weeks. It is $98 and seems to  have pretty good reviews as far as lash growth is concerned. One lady referred to it as a 'miracle in a tube.' Would I be safe to assume that it is awesome on brows?

(Talika Eyebrow Lipocils image via)

I've never heard of Talika Lipocils before so I found a review on this website and there seemed to be a few people that noticed a difference and some that didn't. It retails at $42 so it seems to be in the same ballpark as the Anastasia pen.

Tell me what to do! Vote below!

  1. I have to say that I never plucked my eyebrows but always kept them natural. A single hair every now and then maybe. I just use a light brown kajal to fill a spot if necessary and use a brow brush from The Body Shop.

Sorry, I am not much of a help...

  2. Girl... I am in the same boat and I've tried everything!!! Anastasia did NOTHING for me but her brow wiz pencil is awesome. And her powder...it's the only brand that looks natural. For serums, try LiBrow. It's awesome and I actually saw growth! Try it and give it about 5-6 weeks. Oh and try a brow wax...I mean wax you use to shape your brows. I never liked it but it holds and styles better than a gel and the pencil/powders last longer! :)

  7. Try Latisse- you need a prescription from the doctor, but it works the best from what I've seen (it works on lashes AND brows!)

  8. I have supa thick brows because I have super thick hair unfortunately. Well, I guess that's good and bad. I don't know which product you should try! Do you have any other friends with thin brows so you guys can purchase two of them and then switch if one doesn't work?

  9. Oh and I have friends who have used Latisse and their eyes turned brown (originally green) while using it. It DID work but I just thought I would tell you.

  12. i did the exact same thing when i was little! actually people used to say i plucked my eyebrows so badly they looked like upside down nike swooshes. yup. awful. i go to a brow specialist now and she's done a pretty good job with mine but i do with they were a tad thicker. i've never tried any brow pencils or growers before but i just use clear maybelline mascara to make them look better shaped. good luck with whatever you choose!

  15. I wish I had tips for you, but I don't! I know you're not alone though–lots of friends of mine have gone through an over-tweezing period, and they never grew back!

  16. I'm so not ant help, sorry. I used to be a manager at a makeup counter and the Adren counter was never busy, I'm kind of surprised they're still in business. If it was me I'd probably try the first one. Good luck!

  17. Oh girl, I am so sorry. I don't have this issue so I am no help. I would go to Sephora and ask the girls there. They always seem to be VERY knowledgeable on the different products and I bet they can help you pick the better one. Good luck!! YIKES!!!

  18. I have no idea, as I am clueless about these products, but I use eyeshadow to enhance my brows softly and it works! :) x

  19. I did the exact same thing in high school and mine never grew back as full...I've been using the Sonia Kashuk brow kit for years though, and it fills them in discreetly :)

  22. I did the same thing! I thought I looked so cool... I stopped plucking for a looong time and have been lucky in the grow-back department. Good luck!

  23. LiBrow for sure! You can get it at Couture Cosmetics next to Jason's Deli. I have been using the LiLash for almost a year and LOVE it! If it costs the same as the lash one, it will be $80, but if it gives the same results then it's totally worth it.

  25. I am lacking in the brow department too and thus far have just settled for filling them in. I've heard really good things about #1 and #2 but haven't come around to shelling out money to try a growth serum yet. Can you please post a review after a few weeks? I would love to see how they worked out for you!

  26. I've always had the hardest time growing my brows - tried Anastasia and Revitalash for brows and neither made a difference but I've been using latisse for my lashes and the residual on my brows and it's seriously working!! I'd love to know if you try one of the other products and get results though!
