Tribal Prints - Part 2: Separates

In yesterday's post I featured tribal prints on dresses only. If being covered from your neck to your knees in a funky print is not your thing, then maybe separates are for you. You can focus the attention on only one part of your body with a print and keep the rest basic with a solid color.

The Aztec flat front shorts would be great with a white blazer and some chunky heels. Push up the sleeves of the blazer and add some bangles to accessorize. I never get tired of a blazer so for me it is always an option.

Oh, I was going to take pictures this weekend of a new outfit (so cute!) that just arrived but I seemed to have caught the bug that my son had this past week. That is part of being a mother. Tribal Prints - Part 1

Tribal prints seem to be everywhere lately. I love how a tribal print transforms a basic dress into a statement piece. Speaking of statements, did you see the first dress? The ASOS dress is completely covered in sequins. It is my favorite by far. I am definitely a fan of the unexpected and taking something so bold (such as a tribal print) and doing it in all over sequins is completely unexpected (but fabulous).

Of course, not every occasion calls for all over sequins. For those times, a dress like the Canyon Ikat Tiered Maxi is probably my next favorite. It is more suited for a day of shopping or lunch with the girls.

Leather Pants: 3 Ways to Wear Them

Here are just a few examples on how I like to style leather pants. I really like the boot in the first look. Mixing brown boots and accessories with black leather adds a 'cool' vibe to the ensemble. I also love the little bull ring. It gives this look a modern, cowgirl-esque vibe. (At least, that is what I would wear if I were a horse wrangler on a ranch). Since I don't work on a ranch (thank goodness because I am terrified of horses), I will just stick to wearing this around town.

I did a post on loafers not too long ago. You can read it here. I still have not ordered mine, but when I do, I will be wearing them with a chambray shirt for sure! I also like how the cross-body bag keeps the entire look casual.

With most looks, I like to throw in something a little unexpected. These little stud earrings by Marc Jacobs add the perfect hint of unexpected to the third look. A wedge boot makes the outfit casual enough to wear during the day. Try swapping them for a pair of heels and add dramatic earrings to transition this look into evening attire.
