Swimwear & Life Lately

Hello all! No, I haven't fallen off the face of the planet. I've spent the last few weeks recovering from the holidays and working hard to get seven recital dances choreographed over our Christmas break. I've spent the last three weeks teaching those dances (frantically) and will need the next three weeks to clean them up so that I can take time off to have my baby.

Speaking of baby, I have four weeks left! Baby will be coming the last week of February and I can't wait. In a way I feel like this pregnancy has been really short but at the same time it seems to be dragging on forever. Makes no sense, I know.

So a few weeks ago (I think), I saw this swimsuit in an ad on my sidebar on Facebook and fell in love. It is the perfect swimsuit for someone like me who has had three kids. It still gives the feel of a bikini but would keep me covered up. Let's face it, after having kids, I'm not exactly thrilled to ever put on a bikini again. Besides, the older I get, the more exposed I feel, as if I'm just wearing a bra and underwear in public. Not what I'm going for. At the same time, I'm not ready for a full-on one piece just yet.

While I love the black one piece pictured above, $154 is not exactly in my price range for a swimsuit. And think about it, I'm shopping for a swimsuit while 8 months pregnant. So having to randomly guess what my size will be 6 months from now (when I'm hopefully in shape) does not seem like a solid plan when buying such an expensive suit. So I turned to Target. They had several suits that I loved and for $30 a piece, I figured I could guess on the size and hope for the best.

Here is what I ended up with:

While I loved the colors that this suit came in, black is just more my style. And it's slimming, so there you go.

You may not hear from me over the next four weeks so don't be surprised if you don't. I'll share pictures of baby once he/she arrives and then slowly get back into blogging as I'm able to. Have a great day!

  2. I actually just saw a similar one-piece at Target that has the crocheted stomach and back, I think for $40.

  3. That Target one is a sexy one piece! I was just in Target too on the weekend and it was driving me nuts that they had so many bathing suits out considering I won't be wearing one till May (at the earliest!) around here.

  4. I really like that black suit! It's modest yet sexy at the same time. I can't believe we're both nearing the end of our pregnancies. I loved the comment you left on my post :). You're right, it feels like it's flown by and now it feels like it's almost going in slow motion. I can't wait to meet my little one and I can't wait to "meet" yours too! I hope you get plenty of rest these next few weeks. Praying for you friend!!

  5. I cannot believe you only have four weeks left!!! Time has flown!! And I have tried on these type suits before. They are adorable on the hanger and on other women, but they look horrendous on me. No fair!!

  8. Cute finds! I've had no babies and I'm not thrilled to be in a bikini! ha ha. I think one pieces can be super cute and playful, just not the best for tan lines...
