Minty Fresh

Mint

I recently bought this skirt in mint from Tobi. I fell in love with the color and it got me looking for other mint-colored clothing. I didn't have to look far! Not only are bold colors in style but pastels are pushing their way to the forefront of the color trend. If bold colors are too, well, bold for you, then try going the pastel route. If you are concerned about looking like an Easter egg then go the minimalist route. A soft colored pair of earrings or nail polish are the perfect way to embrace the trend.

I can't wait to show you guys ('y'all' for my southern readers) my skirt and how I will style it. My husband and I just ordered a brand new camera (at the recommendation of my friend Lizzie who is a fantastic photographer) in the hopes that I can start taking more wardrobe pictures.

Hopefully this weekend I will have the camera and finally be over this horrible sickness. (I just got back from the doctor and found out I have strep throat).

Hope you guys are having a fabulous Tuesday!

Garden Party

Garden Party

Spring is in the air! Trees are finally blooming and we are starting to see temperatures in the 70s. Well, we never had a proper winter so we have been seeing unnaturally high temperatures to begin with, but I am not complaining. I am definitely not a winter person so I welcome the change in the weather and blooming trees even if it means my allergies will be going haywire.

Spring is a perfect time (or maybe not for you allergy-prone people) to host a garden party...after you have worked hard planting all of the flowers, that is. You can host a bridal luncheon, baby shower, or just throw a party to celebrate the arrival of spring. If you are like me, you never need an excuse to dress up and get together with friends.

Here are a few things I put together for what I think would make a stellar look for an outdoor affair. If you think wearing heels outside is a bit nuts (I can already hear my mom joking about my obsession with 5 inch heels) then opt for something more turf-friendly like a wedge. It will offer more support and leave your grass without holes.

A floppy hat will offer some much-needed shade for an outdoor affair. The sunglasses give the whole ensemble a slight hippie feel, which I love.

I hope you are enjoying the spring-like weather wherever you are. I know some of you are still experiencing snow but hopefully the warm temperatures are just around the corner for you!

Tribal Prints - Part 3: Accessories

Calling all minimalists! Here is the last segment in my Tribal Prints series. If head-to-toe tribal prints are too loud for you and separates are still a bit much, then accessories are the best way to capitalize on this funky print trend.

Start with a neutral outfit and add one of these accessories to amp up your look. Just a cute top and shorts would look great with one of the ballet flats. I am loving the Coconuts Brea flat and think it would look super cute with this top and a pair of shorts.

So out of the three segments, which was your favorite overall? I personally like the separates and accessories...although I still can't get over this dress from the first series!
